Aptiv’s Supply Chain Leadership Development Program includes rotations across multiple Supply-Chain disciplines with the aim of developing Technical and Commercial expertise, in addition to developing strong leadership capabilities to fast-track leadership development and progression within Aptiv.
The key objective of the role is to support the Aptiv Supply-chain function across multiple disciplines to achieve it’s operational and strategic objectives in the areas of Supply, Cost, Risk, Quality, Compliance and productivity, to drive maximum value for the wider business.
The role initially reports into a Director of Sourcing within SCM.
Your Role
1. Direct and Indirect Buying: Negotiate pricing & terms for Spot Buys and Tactical Sourcing dealsCreate RFQ Documents and run RFQs/eAuctions for sourcing activitiesManage Supplier in-life Contract obligations and commercial performance and day to day transactional Supplier relationshipWork with the Business to drive usage savings and demand management initiativesManage and mitigate live Supply risksLoad Contracts onto Contract Management Systems & record Contract ObligationsMonitor Supplier Contract & Catalogue expiry dates
2. Category Strategy Development: Support Category managers to help:Create & implement Category StrategiesAnalyse external market trends, inflation outlook, macro-economic conditionsDevelop 3 year Cost, Technology and Product roadmapsDevelop Supply-chain resiliency/Supply risk profiles to mitigate emerging risksDevelop long-term supply strategies & develop potential supply-baseAnalyse internal Customer demand & corresponding Supplier spend analysis and develop Category Demand management strategies
3. Strategic Sourcing: Support Category Sourcing teams to:Negotiate Key deals (commercially & Contractually)Develop & implement Sourcing strategies for individual requirementsUnderstand stakeholder requirements for individual sourcing needsMake Sourcing Awards and obtain necessary stakeholder approvals/alignmentDrive Price savings within Category & develop annual savings planSupport implementation of Category Strategy through sourcing awards
4. Logistics management: Plan and manage warehousing operations to minimize inventoryCoordinate shipping of goods to and from Customers/Suppliers/Aptiv plants
5. Supply-Chain resilience: Analyse external market trends and risk triggers to determine potential macro-risksReview existing Supply contingency plans and work with category teams to develop new contingency plans to address short and medium term risksMaintain Supply-Chain resiliency tool with multi-tier supply-chain Geo-location dataMap out supply-chain dependencies to identify critical single points of failure
6. Supply-chain Compliance Support and input into global SCM Compliance Strategy and policiesMonitor and manage key compliance obligations, controls & measures to ensure compliance to Aptiv’s compliance standardsCarry out regular, documented audits and risk assessments of SCM’s compliance obligationsDevelop management action plans to address any gaps or compliance risks
7. Supply-chain Strategy / Supply-Chain analytics Support development of medium & long term Supply-chain strategyDevelop and manage Supply-Chain Key Performance Indicators

Qualifications/Skill Requirements
14. Business or supply-chain-related degree-qualified, preferably Masters in Business or Supply-chain discipline
15. Strong interest in & basic knowledge of global commercial practices, economic & geopolitical trends, issues & current events
16. Good general business and financial acumen with ability to analyse data and interpret financial trends
17. Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and project manage effectively to simplify complex situations to influence and drive the necessary change or improvement
18. Ability to working in a professional business environment and communicate effectively to work colleagues, managers, suppliers, stakeholders
19. Location: Initially Dublin City Centre but requirement to rotate to other Aptiv locations internationally as required
