Red Hat Software Quality Engineer - RHEL Virtualization (Brno Office, Czech Republic)
The Red Hat Quality Engineering (QE) team is looking for a Quality Engineer to join us in Brno, Czech Republic. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to make a difference in the way RHEL Virtualization works/are built. You’ll gain a complete understanding of a variety of technologies, including cloud and virtualization. You will ensure our solutions fulfill the highest possible enterprise quality, performance, usability, and supportability criteria. As a Quality Engineer, you'll serve as the last instance before applications are released to the public. You'll create and carry out test plans, research new features, and develop automated tests. We'll need you to have the ability to think creatively and adapt to rapid change, as well as the willingness to learn new things.
What you will do
1. Work with the complete RHEL solutions portfolio and be responsible for the delivery of KVM Virtualization.
2. Create test plans and participate in product planning processes.
3. Develop new automated and manual tests; develop frameworks to ease test development and automation to speed up implementation.
4. Take responsibility for qemu-kvm/kernel and supervise its successful testing in a timely manner.
5. Ensure solutions are ready for release to public audiences.
6. Participate and perform root cause analysis of issues to address problems.
7. Investigate usage of upper layer products and refine test plans accordingly.
What you will bring
1. Experience in Quality Engineering.
2. Solid skills in Python.
3. Solid skills and background in Linux.
4. Ability to design and code complex test cases or contribute code to frameworks which simplify test development and automation solutions.
5. Ability to assist in/perform root cause analysis of issues and develop reproducers.
6. Ability to take responsibility for writing complex test plans for a feature and provide usable time estimations on completion; ability to identify potential risks connected to test development of assigned feature and mitigate them.
7. Solid written and verbal communication skills in English.
8. Intermediate knowledge of virtualization, e.g. QEMU, KVM.
9. Knowledge of different architecture hardware is a plus.
10. CI/CD experience is a plus.
11. Knowledge of kubevirt and Kubernetes is a plus.
