Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for an Energy Engineer located in Spideal, Galway. The Energy Engineer will be responsible for conducting energy audits, providing excellent customer service, performing energy analysis, optimizing energy efficiency, and managing energy resources.
Responsibilities
As an energy engineer, you will:
* Conduct comprehensive energy audits of buildings, building systems, and process systems, using data loggers, meters, software, and other tools;
* Identify and prioritize energy saving measures, based on technical feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and customer needs;
* Prepare clear and detailed audit reports, containing energy analysis results, recommendations, and savings estimates;
* Present audit findings and proposals to clients, and answer their questions and concerns;
* Project manage and coordinate with engineers, contractors, and utility representatives to implement energy efficiency projects;
* Stay updated on the latest energy efficiency technologies, standards, and best practices;
* Maintain professional certifications and accreditations in energy auditing;
* Manage and mentor junior engineers in the delivery of energy audits.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, you must have:
* A bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, environmental science, energy management, or a related field;
* A minimum of 5 years of experience in conducting energy audits for commercial and industrial facilities;
* A certification or accreditation in energy auditing, such as BPI, CEM, CEA or LEED;
* A strong knowledge of HVAC, lighting, water, and industrial systems, and their energy performance and optimization;
* A proficiency in using energy modelling software and capable of developing custom energy models;
* A valid driver’s license and a willingness to travel to client sites;
* Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills;
* A passion for energy efficiency and sustainability;
* Be highly motivated and a flexible individual to contribute to the growth of the company;
* Ability to mentor and lead junior energy engineers;
