Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.5 years of experience in program management.3 years of experience with one or more optical technologies such as client transceivers, optical metro and long-haul DWDM systems, or submarine systems.Experience in Network Architecture, Network Configuration, Network Diagnostics, Network Management Systems, Network Monitoring, and Network Troubleshooting.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with performance, reliability, systems data analysis, visualization tools, or debugging.Experience with enterprise network operations and a systematic approach to troubleshooting.Experience in managed network services or enterprise networking and network management systems administration and software-defined wide area networks.About the JobGoogle is forming a new Submarine cable organization which will build, operate and promote global infrastructure assets to support Google Global Networking (GGN) growth and open networking objectives.
This organization will require a dedicated operations program to help define, design and deploy resources towards a cohesive and coordinated plan embedded within the GGNI and wider cloud division.
The development will bring significant new resources into Google, stimulate slick, simplistic governance and drive a talent development program to ensure adequate succession planning and career development in this unique and specific part of the business.
ResponsibilitiesEstablish and lead the secure management and delivery of Network Operations Support Systems (OSS) necessary to facilitate the safe secure operational management of the Global Submarine Networks (GSN) organization.Work closely with stakeholders, supporting GSN's Network Operations Center (NOC) to develop systems operating processes in addition to the lifecycle management of the hardware and software elements incorporated into the OSS/Data Center Network (DCN) and maintain its functional capabilities, upgrades, and enhancements.Manage access authentication and overall functions and features maintaining 99.9999% availability (i.e., total resilience for Network operations of the Google Global Network).Work with technology suppliers, security, risk, and compliance teams to ensure Google maintains the highest levels of reliability in respect of Operating Systems and Network.Monitor and troubleshoot network and OSS systems performance, Implement Service Performance Measures and Service Performance Analysis.Google is proud to be an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer.
