Onsite Facilities Management are recruiting for Reception Needs Officers in Tralee and Killarney. The Reception Needs Officer is responsible for addressing the initial and ongoing needs of residents upon their arrival and throughout their stay at the international protection applicant centre. This role involves assessing resident requirements, providing support and guidance, coordinating services, and ensuring that residents receive the necessary assistance to facilitate their well-being and integration. Key Responsibilities 1.Resident Assessment and Support: Conduct assessments of new residents to identify their needs and requirements. Develop and implement individualised support plans for residents based on their assessments. Provide residents with information about available services and resources within the centre and the wider community. 2. Coordination of Services: Coordinate with internal and external service providers to ensure residents receive appropriate support, including healthcare, education, legal aid, and social services. Liaise with local authorities, NGOs, and other relevant organisations to facilitate access to services for residents. Maintain up-to-date records of services provided to residents and track their progress. 3. Orientation and Integration: Assist new residents with their orientation to the centre and its facilities, rules, and regulations. Organise and conduct orientation sessions and workshops to help residents understand their rights and responsibilities. Support residents in their efforts to integrate into the local community, including facilitating language classes, cultural activities, and community engagement. 4. Crisis Intervention and Support: Provide immediate support and intervention for residents experiencing crises, such as health emergencies, mental health issues, or safety concerns. Work with relevant professionals to address and resolve crises, ensuring the safety and well-being of residents. Offer emotional support and guidance to residents dealing with trauma or distress. 5. Advocacy and Empowerment: Advocate on behalf of residents to ensure their needs and concerns are heard and addressed. Empower residents by providing them with the tools and knowledge to make informed decisions about their lives. Encourage resident participation in centre activities and decision-making processes. 6. Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate and confidential records of resident assessments, support plans, and services provided. Prepare regular reports on resident needs, service delivery, and outcomes for review by the Centre Manager. Ensure compliance with data protection and confidentiality policies. 7. Team Collaboration: Work closely with other centre staff, including social workers, healthcare providers, and administrative personnel, to provide comprehensive support to residents. Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities. Contribute to the development and improvement of centre policies and procedures.
