Job Title: Clinical Lecturer/Tutor in Medicine
Reporting To: Prof Gerry McElvaney, Head of Department of Medicine, or nominee.
About the Role:
We are seeking a Clinical Lecturer/Tutor in Medicine to participate in the development, direction, teaching, facilitation and examinations of our undergraduate teaching programme.
Responsibilities:
* Contribute to the clinical teaching programme in the junior, intermediate and senior cycle of our four and five year teaching programmes.
* Assess students in the junior, intermediate and senior cycles of the four and five year programmes, including developing, delivering and evaluating these activities.
* Liaise with heads of department, project leaders for clinical competence and other relevant faculty members in planning, delivering and evaluating teaching programmes.
* Deliver the curriculum at multiple sites, including assigned hospitals, RCSI Campus St Stephens Green, and RCSI Sandyford Institute of Leadership & Healthcare Management.
Requirements:
* Evidence of registration with the Irish Medical Council.
* A keen interest in lecturing and interacting with undergraduate students.
* Excellent communication skills.
Desirable Qualifications:
* Previous experience using E-learning/VLE systems.
* Experience of teaching and assessing students in an academic environment.
* Completed at least 4 years of clinical experience post-internship.
* MRCPI / MRCSI or equivalent.
