Our client is a leading Irish building contractor working on a broad range of building projects in the healthcare, education, industry, construction, and leisure industries.
They are seeking to appoint Quantity Surveyors at all levels of experience to work on projects in Dublin, Limerick & Galway.
Candidates will be required to demonstrate capability and experience in dealing with challenging projects.
Responsibilities:
1. Advise and report regularly to the Commercial Manager.
2. Advise on contractual matters – general and project level.
3. Identify contract grounds for claim.
4. Provide commercial and QS support & advise on appointing project staff (commercial).
5. Look for opportunities to maximise revenue and reduce costs.
6. Assist with project cash management.
7. Advise and support with project correspondence.
8. Negotiate and agree subcontractors.
9. Ensure final accounts are closed in a timely manner.
10. Identify and investigate losses.
11. Timely drafting of commercial/contractual correspondence.
12. Negotiate subcontract and suppliers’ prices and terms.
13. Prepare subcontract and suppliers documents.
14. Prepare and review monthly cost reports.
15. Ensure risk registers, variation trackers, and extension of time tracker sheets are reviewed and updated monthly and included within monthly reports.
16. Negotiate subcontractors and suppliers final accounts.
Requirements:
1. Professional qualification in Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management.
2. 2+ years’ experience in a Quantity Surveyor role on construction projects.
3. Ability to work on large scale, high headcount construction sites & subcontractors experience.
4. Liaise with Commercial Manager and Contracts Manager when dealing with internal stakeholders and client’s representatives while on site including attendance at meetings.
5. Must have excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
6. Strong understanding of the construction industry and working on site.
7. Ability to use time productively, maximize efficiency, and meet challenging work goals.
8. Must have fluent English and be eligible to work in Ireland.
