The Assistant Director of Revenue is responsible for the interpretation of business analytics into tactical strategy - provides focused expertise that will guide and direct the hotel Yield Team through effective and measurable revenue management initiatives. The priority will be room revenue with a growing focus on total revenue management. Main Duties & Responsibilities Include: FINANCIAL RETURNS Understand the composition of hotel profitability, and uses this to evaluate business from local accounts and groups so as to provide input to future rate setting and negotiation Assist relevant departments with pricing strategies, up selling opportunities etc to maximise full revenue generation Monitor competitor pricing for all revenue generating departments, understands the dynamic of the local market and the demand generators, and recommends appropriate actions in relation to the hotels pricing and market mix strategy Conduct weekly rate/sell strategy (yield) meetings with General Manager, Director of Sales & Marketing, Reservations, Front Office and Director Conference & Catering. Manage, produce, monitor rate strategy tiers, transient demand/ turn away, booking pace by segment, segment ceilings, full house days analysis, group displacement, arrival patterns, incentive results, GDS review, rate resistance report Control room and rate availability in accordance with established guidelines to maximize occupancy and revenue, develop and implement up sell programs throughout the hotel Prepare and distribute occupancy and revenue forecasts and keep all department heads well informed of any unexpected changes in levels of business, monitor no show collection with Front Office and Accounting department Compile and publish a monthly analysis/report summarizing the months reservation activity. Distribute daily return guest, daily VIP list, and daily arrivals list, handle all No-Show billings and disputes Manage the use of future business intelligence tool Future leverage of analytics using a total revenue management approach Ownership of OTA Market Manager relationship Ownership of local merchandising strategies in distribution channels. PEOPLE Responsibility for the execution of the Reservations Departments policies and procedures and manage the daily operation including ability to execute the tasks of a Telephone/PBX Operator. Work with the Sales, Catering & Conference Services Department in handling group bookings, maintaining files, tracing cut-offs dates, following up on special instructions, etc. Conduct regular Reservations Departmental Meetings to conduct training sessions and provide timely feedback to reservations staff develop and mentor the reservations staff for future advancement Provides technical support to Reservations and Front Office on up-selling and negotiating techniques. Select and train operators, reservations staff and other personnel in the various disciplines and recommend succession/termination as necessary, supervise the performance on an ongoing basis and conduct performance appraisals. Maintain favorable working relationships among employees and other departments, to promote maximum morale, productivity and efficiency in the department through leadership and a fair and consistent display of discipline. GUEST EXPERIENCE The ability to display a high level of integrity and professionalism at all times in dealing with guests and employees Control all suite reservations in conjunction with the Front Office Manager and ensure special handling of top corporate clients, VIPs, and return guests Ensure that all reservation confirmations are printed out and mailed on a daily basis, maintain accurate records on pick-up, cancellations, no-shows, and sources of reservations Follow up on any guest complaints pertaining to room bookings, rates etc The Ideal Candidate: QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS Completed a university degree in accounting, Business Administration, or Hotel Management University/College Degree At least 4 years experience working in hotel revenue management or similar business analytics and strategy role Mandatory: Experience and strong knowledge of :Excel spreadsheets, pivot tables and other database use Preferred:Alkimii,MS Office, Word, PowerPoint, Hyperion Enterprise,IDeaS revenue management, Holidex; Opera property management system Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Exceptional attention to detail and a strong administrative background Team player. Accuracy and strong attention to detail. Flexibility in day to day job demands, remain focused when priorities and practices change. Be clear, concise and professional in all communications both written and verbal.
