Job Title:
Permanent Part Time (48 hours per fortnight) Support Worker (Care Assistant Grade), Nagle Residential Services
Qualifications and Experience
* Have a third level qualification relevant to the provision of services to individuals with intellectual disabilities or at a minimum a QQI Level 5 major award.
* Or one year completed of an ongoing relevant third level qualification.
* Relevant experience working with adults with intellectual disabilities/autism.
* Excellent communication skills.
* The ability to listen and respond to the needs of people who use services.
* Innovative and creative, able to work on one’s own initiative.
* Computer literate.
* Possess a full clean manual category “B” Irish driving licence.
* Experience of working as a member of a team is essential.
Remuneration
Salary Scale: (pro rata) €31,880; €32,999; €34,521; €35,026; €35,844; €37,434; €39,142; €39,737; €41,220; €42,329; €43,233; €44,248; €45,034 LSI. All new entrants to the Public Service will start at the first point of this scale.
Working Hours
The normal working fortnight will be 48 hours, however, flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, nights, waking cover and sleepovers may be required.
Health
The successful candidate must be free from any condition that would render him/her unsuitable to hold the appointment and must be in a state of health indicating a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.
Duties
The general duties of the appointment are as described in the attached Job Description.
Training and Development
Be informed of current developments in services for people with intellectual disabilities and attend mandatory training courses.
Confidentiality
In the course of employment, the post holder may have access to confidential information concerning the medical or personal affairs of individuals and must ensure such information is kept confidential.
Flexibility
Employees are expected to have a high level of flexibility and be willing to develop new approaches to their work.
