Snr. Software Engineering Manager - Day Rate Contract

This fast-paced and high-performing company is on a growth journey with several greenfield projects to deliver. This role is best suited to a technical Software Engineering Manager with a blend of strategic vision and delivery, a strong understanding of technology, and the ability to drive technical conversations across the business.
You will be responsible for delivering all stages of the SDLC in a fast-paced, regulated environment, with a focus on processes and high-quality development solutions across the organisation.
This is a cross-functional position where you will work closely with technical teams while also reporting to senior management and stakeholders. You will also be responsible for managing third-party vendors to ensure optimal delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Leadership: Overseeing a software engineering function that delivers new technology solutions while collaborating with other technical teams across the business. Establishing best practices for software development.
* Vendor Management: Managing third-party vendors and ensuring SLAs are delivered to a high standard.
* Security & Compliance: Driving security strategy while maintaining a strong technical hands-on approach. Ensuring compliance with SOX, DORA, and GDPR.
* C-Level Reporting & Strategy: Providing strategic input and regular reporting to senior leadership.
* Technical Leadership: Collaborating closely with Technical Architects, Product Owners, and SWE teams to support high-level design conversations.
* Regulated Environment: Ensuring software is built with high compliance standards and governance.
Requirements:
* 10+ years of experience leading and managing Development and QA teams in hybrid environments (on-prem and cloud).
* Experience managing an IT Change Program with a focus on quality, efficiency, and cost reduction.
* Strong experience managing across multiple disciplines within a large IT department, balancing resources and ensuring skillset alignment.
* Previous experience delivering Automation initiatives within an established SDLC.
* Experience migrating on-prem services and applications to Azure Cloud.
* Strong expertise in Release and Deployment Management.
* Proven experience in Program Management, with reporting to C-level stakeholders.
* Professional presence with excellent customer-facing skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels.
* Strong leadership ability with a continuous improvement mindset.
