Fineco Asset Management DAC ('Fineco AM') is a Dublin based UCITS asset management company (ManCo) subsidiary of FinecoBank S.p.A. ('FinecoBank'). FinecoBank ('Fineco') is a leading European bank with a 20-year history and a fully digital DNA with a branchless approach since the start. Fineco AM, which started its operations in May 2018, is authorized by the Central Bank of Ireland as a UCITS Management Company and it currently has approximately €32bn in assets under management. Fineco AM is a competence centre- specialised in the management of fund-of-funds, single strategy funds, as well as Structured Solutions Funds. In addition to portfolio management activities, all key supporting and controlling functions, such as Compliance, Risk, Finance and Legal, are also performed locally. Fineco AM started with 5 employees and has grown rapidly over the past 6 years with a headcount currently sitting at 80 FTEs and growing quickly (half of our headcount was hired during the pandemic period). Currently Fineco AM manages 3 UCITS Umbrella Funds - in Luxembourg (1 fund) and in Ireland (2 funds). The Company is in the process of extending its authorisation to become a Super ManCo (with an AIFM and MiFID top up licence).
Main Responsibilities
We are looking for a motivated professional, who is goal-oriented and with high problem-solving skills. The responsibilities listed above are expected to change as the company evolves. To be successful you will need to be proactive and able to work in a dynamic environment where flexibility is key and ongoing learning are required. The Operational Risk Analyst will be involved in maintaining and updating the operational risk management framework of the Company with focus across Risk & Control Assessments, Delegate & Outsourcing oversight & control, Operational Risk Metrics, Business Continuity Management, and Operational Risk Incident response. The ideal candidate will have a background in operational risk in asset management but candidates from other relevant backgrounds may be considered. The successful candidate will also assist in preparing reporting for the Designated Person for Operational Risk Management (PCF 39B).
Operational Risk
1. Assist the Operational Risk Manager in identification and assessment of operational risk inherent in all material products, activities, processes and systems, including as part of the risk & control self-assessment process.
2. Support in preparation of the report to the Board of Directors on all material aspects of operational risk for Designated person for Operational Risk Management (PCF-39B).
3. Establishment and implementation of processes to regularly monitor Operational Risk profiles and material exposures to losses, including development of relevant metrics.
4. Help build and monitor Key Risk Indicators, escalating changes to the risk profile to risk owners including breaches of risk appetite limits, and identifying remedial strategies to bring exposures within tolerance.
5. Ongoing development of strategies, policies, processes and procedures to control and/or mitigate material operational risks.
6. Ongoing development of the operational risk event response framework, including root cause analysis and remediation tracking.
7. Oversight of operational risks related to delegated and outsourced activities within the firm.
8. Participate in firmwide projects to identify, assess and manage operational risks related to delivery of the business model.
Governance
1. Assist in building out committee reporting to inform and enhance management's decision making including review of the agenda, compiling and delivering content and preparation of minutes.
2. Assisting in the preparation of the risk appetite to the Board of Directors.
3. Regular reporting to the CEO, the Board of Director's and to the Fineco Bank CRO Function as necessary.
4. Acknowledge the regulations of Fineco Bank, ensuring the local implementation through internal processes and policies.
Skills
1. Bachelor's/Master's degree in Economics/Finance/Mathematics etc.
2. 2-3 years of risk management experience, preferably gained in an asset management context.
3. Knowledge of UCITS regulations (advantageous).
4. Knowledge of OR industry best practice and regulatory standards.
5. Results driven and hard working.
6. Strong technical and analytical skills; professionally sceptical.
7. Demonstrate strong ability to write clearly and concisely.
8. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
9. Professional certifications such as FRM, PRMIA, CFA will be considered a plus.
