Accounts Assistant
We are seeking an Accounts Assistant to join our client's team immediately. This role involves working closely with the Financial Controller and Senior Accounts Assistant, providing essential support across the finance functions of the business.
This is a fixed-term contract for six months, with the potential for extension. The position requires on-site presence for the first three months, with the possibility of hybrid working thereafter.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare monthly and year-end financial reports.
* Assist in the creation of monthly forecasts and business budgets.
* Collaborate with the management team to monitor and control expenditure.
* Support the completion of monthly, bi-monthly, and annual revenue returns.
* Aid in the preparation and reporting of weekly payroll.
* Manage accounts payable and receivable tasks as required.
* Conduct banking activities, including processing direct debits, lodging funds, and reconciling bank statements.
* Maintain the fixed asset register, post depreciation entries, and perform monthly reconciliations.
* Oversee financial tasks related to inventory management.
* Identify and implement improvements to the ERP system.
* Collaborate with internal and external auditors.
* Support the training and development of accounts and administrative staff.
* Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the finance department.
Requirements:
* IATI qualification or Part Qualified Accountant is desirable.
* Minimum of three years' experience in a busy finance department.
* Familiarity with computerised payroll systems is an advantage.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Team-oriented with a commitment to achieving business objectives.
* Ability to apply continuous improvement (CI) and lean principles to daily tasks.
* Capacity to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities effectively.
