Mechanical Process Engineer (Automation & Packaging)

Our Client, a global Engineering and technical business process management consultancy organisation, are seeking a Mechanical Process Engineer (Automation & Packaging) to join their team in Dublin.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
* Lead or act as a subject matter expert process mechanical engineer.
* Stay updated on process mechanical engineering trends and emerging technologies.
* Delivery: Design, engineering, implementation, and verification of industry-compliant automated assembly and packaging solutions for integration and validation for production readiness. Design, engineering, and verification of documentation packages.
* Project Leadership: Establish project technical scope, priorities, and execution sequences; align the technical scope with team member skill sets; inform and consult with project, supplier, and acquirer leadership on technical status, challenges, and options to ensure that projects meet objectives for scope, time, and budget.
* Design: Analyze stakeholder needs; identify, negotiate, prioritize, and quantify Solution Architecture and Functional elements. Conduct and document design reviews in collaboration with team, supplier(s), and acquirer(s).
* Engineering: Identify, negotiate, prioritize, and quantify mechanical and electrical packages and components. Analyze and implement CAD-generated drawings and schematics.
* Reviews: Conduct and document engineering reviews with the team, supplier(s), and acquirer(s).
* Implementation: Engage and monitor the procurement, fabrication, assembly, and solution integration activities and processes. Provide oversight as appropriate to project agreements. Lead and collaborate on integrating solutions into a production environment.
* Verification: Participate in the execution and review of verification activities. Identify and document process verification items, cases, and scripts. Define, document, and conduct Design of Experiments (DOE).
* Risk Management: Conduct, document, review, and update Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and Control Plans.
* Technical Expertise and Collaboration: Engage, inform, advise, and consult with acquirer, supplier, and solution delivery teams.
* Advocacy: Engage suppliers as active stakeholders on the acquirer's (client) behalf. Engage and inform acquirer(s) on technical challenges and options.
* Product Design Collaboration: Advise and consult on product design impact for manufacturing, assembly, and packaging.
Job requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
* Experience in Injection Moulding
* 2-5 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant role.
* Knowledge of process mechanical engineering principles and practices, including sequential and concurrent material flows, safety by design, quality by design, pneumatics, and intelligent actuators and sensors.
* Proficient knowledge of automated assembly, mechanical process sequential operations design, power (electrical and pneumatic) distribution, mechanical component fabrication, machining, and tolerance verification.
* Skills in critical thinking / analytical reasoning, including but not limited to applied mathematics corroborations, rationale, decision dependencies, technical critical path, strategic-tactical alignment.
* Proficient skills in project management.
* Proficient in overseeing small- and medium-scale projects.
* Ability to perform process engineering skills independently.
* Work from home with travel expected to European client facilities as required.
* Up to 25% international travel.
