**Job Summary**
As a Mechanical Lead for the Power Plant undergoing decommissioning and upgrade of turbines, you will oversee the execution of mechanical decommissioning and upgrade works in accordance with statutory safety, health and environmental regulations.

**Key Responsibilities**
1. Work with the Safety Adviser and project team members to ensure compliance with safety, health and environmental regulations during the project.
2. Manage Main EPC Mechanical Contract and other Mechanical contracts/work scopes assigned by the Project Manager.
3. Liaise with specialist teams to deliver overhaul in line with defined protocols and procedures.
4. Support implementation of Inspection & Test Plans for Mechanical aspects of the unit in conjunction with the Competent Person/Asset Management Specialist.
5. Manage quality in accordance with responsibilities listed in the Project Quality Plan.
6. Supervise contractors and their works on a day-to-day basis.
7. Work with station Management and Maintenance Teams during the project.
8. Undertake regular safety, environment and quality audits during the overhaul.
9. Report progress against schedule and attend project meetings as deemed appropriate by the Project Manager.
10. Work with the Project Manager to control costs for assigned contracts.
11. Manage special tooling requirements with the principle Contractor.
12. Develop technical specifications for work scopes on Mechanical plant and equipment.
13. Involve in various stages of tendering and procurement process.
14. Use plant modification process for all Mechanical plant modifications.
15. Ensure all Mechanical procedures and drawings are updated.
16. Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), workshop visits if required.
**Requirements**
* Essential Engineer level 8 qualification in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
* Experience in the overhaul of hydro power plant.
* Experience of Power plant mechanical plant, including Pumps, Motors and Valves etc.
* Well versed with Health, Safety and Environment Standards and procedures.
* Minimum experience of 5 years (Post Qualification) in power generation industry.
