Role Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Fashion Merchandiser to optimize our client's product range, ensuring alignment with market trends and customer preferences to drive sales. Collaborating closely with teams across buying, design, supply chain, finance, and marketing, this role is pivotal in delivering a curated product selection that balances profitability and brand competitiveness. The ideal candidate will possess strong trend forecasting skills and a passion for fashion, ensuring we consistently meet customer demands and seasonal opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Collaborate with the buying and design teams to develop seasonal product strategies, managing open-to-buys (OTBs), budgets, and range plans.
2. Leverage market trends, sales data, and customer insights to guide product selection and purchasing decisions.
3. Monitor rate of sale (ROS) and stock levels, identifying top-performing products and addressing underperformance through adjustments to allocations and replenishment strategies.
4. Ensure efficient stock distribution across all channels and locations.
5. Coordinate with supply chain and operations to guarantee timely stock deliveries.
6. Stay informed on the latest fashion trends, competitor activities, and market conditions to inform decisions.
7. Deliver trend analyses and insights to support merchandising and buying strategies.
8. Oversee online product presentation, ensuring it aligns with brand standards and seasonal themes.
9. Collaborate on promotional initiatives such as seasonal campaigns to boost product visibility and sales.
10. Analyze sales performance and data to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
11. Provide regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) like sell-through rates, margin performance, and stock turnover.
12. Partner with online and marketing teams to ensure product availability and successful execution of promotions.
13. Assist in forecasting seasonal demand and managing inventory efficiently.
Skills, Knowledge, and Competencies
1. Experience: 3+ years in fashion merchandising or a related role in the fashion retail sector.
2. Expertise: Proven ability in sales forecasting, stock management, and trend analysis.
3. Technical Proficiency: Skilled in Excel and merchandising software.
4. Creative Vision: Passionate about fashion and retail, with a proactive and innovative approach.
5. Education: A degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business, Retail Management, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
