Currently recruiting for a Health and Safety Manager for my client based in Cavan.
As the ideal candidate, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality, health, safety, and environmental management systems according to relevant regulations and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and Implement QHSE Policies
Establish, review, and update QHSE policies and procedures to align with legal requirements and industry best practices. Ensure seamless integration of quality, health, and safety initiatives across the organization.
1. Risk Management
Identify and assess potential Quality health, safety, and environmental risks. Conduct regular audits and inspections, preparing risk management reports to recommend corrective actions.
1. Training and Development
Design and deliver QHSE training programs for all employees to ensure understanding and compliance with policies. Foster a culture of Quality, safety, and environmental awareness throughout the organization.
1. Compliance Monitoring
Monitor compliance with local, national, and international regulatory requirements regarding QHSE. Maintain records and documentation related to QHSE compliance and performance.
1. Incident Management
Oversee the investigation of incidents and near misses, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Prepare and present reports on safety performance metrics to management.
1. Stakeholder Engagement
Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure a coherent approach to QHSE management. Act as a liaison with regulatory bodies during inspections and audits.
1. Continuous Improvement
Stay updated on industry trends and developments to adapt QHSE practices accordingly. Promote a continuous improvement mindset by analyzing prior incidents, performance data, and audit results to enhance QHSE performance.
1. Environment Management
Define company and functional targets and tactical plans on energy (diesel, CNG, biomethane, electricity) and environment management in line with our ESG targets and deliver on same - Maintaining accurate records on our environmental impact for the board, customers, and regulators
1. People Management
Oversight of 1 full-time person tasked with day-to-day oversight of health and safety.
Qualifications include:
* Experience working with quality accreditations such as ISO, BRC, GDP etc.
* Qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
* Minimum 2 years' experience in a QHSE role, preferably in the haulage and logistics industry.
* Strong knowledge of relevant regulations and standards.
* Demonstrated leadership abilities and excellent communication skills.
* Familiarity with QHSE management software and tools.
* Interest in driving ESG initiatives.
