Clerk of Works Job Description
As a Clerk of Works, you will be responsible for ensuring that all work on site is carried out in full compliance with required standards. This involves regularly checking completed works and works in progress to compare them to project plans and specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
* Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure Health & Safety drawings/specifications and practices are adhered to at all times.
* Quality Control: Measure and visually sample building materials to check their quality and ensure they are in line with project requirements.
* Site Monitoring: Continuously monitor all works onsite and liaise with contractors and project management.
* Site Inspections: Regularly attend site inspections, snagging, and handover of works delivered.
* Coordination: Coordinate inspections with client technical team.
* Site Diary: Maintain a daily site diary of all activities onsite.
Requirements:
* Experience: Minimum 3 years construction-based experience, preferably onsite in a role as a Foreman, Site Engineer, Site Manager, Clerk of Works, or as a Resident Architect/Resident Engineer.
* New Build Experience: Preference for experience on new-build projects, however refurbishment projects will be considered an advantage.
* IT Skills: Practical IT skills and ability to use various software packages to accurately record data.
