We are recruiting for a CNM 1 / Practice Nurse for a clinic in Dublin city centre.
* Based mainly in Dublin 1, however some travel may be required.
* Remuneration is based on the INMO scale for a CNM1.
Nursing in a medical charity clinic that provides health services and screening services to vulnerable populations and other hard to reach groups where mainstream services are not available, or they are unable to access them.
It facilitates the integration of specific population groups, including international protection applicants, into mainstream services.
They operate daily fixed GP clinics, day and evening Mobile Health Unit outreach response, and operate the Mobile Health Screening Unit, which includes a mobile X-Ray unit. The team for each clinic usually consists of a blend of a GP, Nurse, Health Care Support Worker, Medical Administrator and, where appropriate, Driver.
Candidates must be NMBI registered and have at least 3 years post registration general nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a nursing management role. Have good working knowledge of general practice nurse procedures such as childhood vaccinations etc.
* Practice as an independent nurse as well as an effective team member.
* Contribute to a culture of open communication to maintain a climate of trust and honesty. Work within scope of practice and take measures to develop and maintain the competence necessary for professional practice.
* Maintain a high standard of professional behaviour and be accountable for practice.
* Deliver the nursing care of an assigned group of patients within a best practice / evidence-based framework.
* Promote the health, welfare and social wellbeing of patients within our services.
* Respect and maintain the privacy, dignity and confidentiality of the patient.
* Ensure that care is carried out in an empathetic and ethical manner and that the dignity and needs of the patient are respected.
* Provide appropriate and timely education and information to the patient and be an advocate for the patient.
* Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary team members.
