SUMMARY
We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer in Dublin 15, Blanchardstown.
Monitor the quality and efficiency performance for assigned manufacturing line(s). Drive continuous improvement through process development, root cause analysis and systematic problem solving.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
* Continually strive to balance and optimize line throughput, including efforts to minimize changeover downtime (i.e. common set-ups).
* Monitor line management data in order to maximize utilization and minimize scrap.
* Assist in establishing clear, measurable and attainable goals and objectives by which to determine individual and team results.
* Provide input on creative ways to reduce costs by streamlining processes and systems.
* Ensure that process parameters are within acceptable tolerances for products and components.
* Design and/or procure production tooling, and product-specific fixtures and jigs.
* Coordinate line reconfigurations and cell change activities, including equipment arrival, positioning and installation, and scheduling of support groups (IT Support, Facilities etc).
* Verify that machine maintenance is performed as scheduled on assigned line(s).
* Provide guidance, assistance and/or training to the Manufacturing Engineering Assistants and Manufacturing Engineering Technicians.
* Assist Engineer(s) with identifying individual and team strengths and development needs on an ongoing basis.
* Encourage open communication and exchange of information within the M.E. department and between the various support groups.
* Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor.
* Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree NFQ Level 7 and three years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
* Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
* Ability to write simple correspondence. Read, understand & develop visual aids.
* Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
* Eligibility to work in Ireland.
Useful skills
* Understanding of Bill of Materials in an ERP environment (SAP preferably).
* Knowledge of MES systems and the ability to manipulate.
* Process Mapping, Value Stream Mapping.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Individual may be required to sit, stand or walk regularly and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs., to be accessible to production floor, attendance at meetings with indirect and direct team members, supervisors, management and customers.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Individual’s primary workstation is located in the office area, with some time spent each day on the manufacturing floor. The noise level in the work environment ranges from low to moderate.
