Our client is seeking a Health and Safety Officer to develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures and programs to ensure the safety and well-being of employees, visitors, and customers on site.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures that comply with all applicable regulations and laws.
* Monitor compliance with health and safety policies and procedures.
* Conduct risk assessments and implement measures to minimize risks.
* Investigate accidents and incidents, and develop and implement corrective actions.
* Provide training and education to employees and management on health and safety issues.
* Maintain accurate records of all health and safety incidents, investigations, and corrective actions.
* Stay up-to-date on changes in regulations and laws related to health and safety.
* Work with external stakeholders, such as government agencies and industry associations, to promote best practices in health and safety.
* Participate in the development and implementation of emergency response plans.
* Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health and Safety, or related field.
* Certification in occupational health and safety (e.g., Certified Safety Professional, Occupational Health and Safety Technician, etc.) is preferred.
* At least 2-3 years of experience in a similar role.
* Knowledge of applicable regulations and laws related to occupational health and safety.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
