A meat production facility in Co. Leitrim is seeking an experienced and motivated Charge Hand to oversee operations within its processing department.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Production Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for supervising designated production lines, ensuring that quality and output targets are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise and coordinate an 8-person team to maintain efficient workflow.
* Lead and facilitate daily PIT communication meetings.
* Monitor and uphold product quality standards.
* Follow and execute production plans effectively.
* Train and rotate team members as needed.
* Conduct metal detection checks in line with safety protocols.
* Oversee stock rotation and inventory management.
Primary Areas of Focus:
* Production efficiency and output
* Continuous improvement and lean manufacturing practices
* Quality control and compliance with specifications
* Maximizing yield and minimizing waste
* Adherence to hygiene and HACCP standards
* Monitoring staff attendance and liaising with HR as needed
* Implementing corrective actions in response to customer feedback
* Supporting training and development initiatives for staff
* Ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of team members
Requirements:
* Experience in a supervisory role within a production environment
* Strong leadership and team coordination skills
* Ability to implement quality control measures
* Capacity to train and develop staff effectively
* Understanding of stock rotation and food safety standards
