A global leader in engineering consulting and professional services is seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Associate Director (Bridges) to join our Bridge Design Team in Cork. Key Responsibilities: Associate Director
* Provide leadership and direction to a team of bridge engineering professionals, fostering a high-performance culture.
* Drive the growth of the business through strategic client engagement and the preparation of competitive tender bids for professional services contracts.
* Conduct short, medium-, and long-term resource planning to ensure project delivery is efficient and effective.
* Oversee the technical delivery of bridge design and structural engineering projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
* Lead medium- to large-scale projects, managing scope, budgets, timelines, and quality assurance processes.
* Serve as the primary interface with clients and stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment on project objectives.
* Develop and mentor junior engineers, fostering talent and promoting professional growth within the team.
* Support and, where required, undertake Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP) duties in line with regulatory requirements.
Required Skills and Attributes: Associate Director
* Proven ability to inspire and manage teams, with a record of accomplishment of delivering complex projects successfully.
* Extensive knowledge of bridge design, inspection, assessment, and rehabilitation.
* Demonstrated ability to develop client relationships and secure new business opportunities.
* Proficiency in managing multidisciplinary projects, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience in client-facing roles.
* Expertise in structural analysis software such as MIDAS Civil or LUSAS, and a solid understanding of Eurocodes.
* Experience with the design and refurbishment of concrete, steel, and masonry structures.
* Strong familiarity with Irish and/or UK regulations and practices.
* Level 8 Honours Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
* Chartered Engineer status (CEng, MIStructE, or equivalent).
* Significant post-graduate experience in bridge engineering, including work on Irish projects.
