Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and qualified Heat Pump Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, servicing, and maintaining heat pump systems as part of our retrofit projects. This role is pivotal to delivering high-quality energy-efficient solutions to our clients and supporting our mission to make homes more sustainable.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Install, commission, and maintain air-to-water and ground-source heat pump systems.
2. Conduct detailed site surveys to assess feasibility and advise on optimal system designs.
3. Diagnose and repair faults in existing heat pump systems.
4. Work collaboratively with retrofit teams, including electricians, plumbers, and project managers, to ensure seamless project delivery.
5. Ensure all work complies with SEAI (Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland) standards and relevant regulations.
6. Provide technical support and guidance to clients, ensuring they understand the operation and maintenance of their systems.
7. Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance, and repairs.
8. Stay up-to-date with advancements in heat pump technology and energy efficiency solutions.
Requirements: Essential:
1. Proven experience in heat pump installation, commissioning, and maintenance (air-to-water and/or ground-source).
2. FETAC Level 6 or equivalent qualification in plumbing, heating, or mechanical services.
3. Refrigerant Handling Certificate (F-Gas qualification).
4. Strong understanding of building energy systems and SEAI retrofit standards.
5. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
6. Valid Safe Pass and Manual Handling certification.
7. Full, clean driver’s license.
Desirable:
1. Knowledge of other renewable technologies, such as solar PV or underfloor heating systems.
2. Experience with heating controls and system integration.
3. Strong IT skills for system diagnostics and record-keeping.
