Job Title: Philanthropy and Events Officer Department: Fundraising Reports to: Head of Philanthropy Location: Dublin, Ireland (with hybrid working available) About the Role This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic individual looking to develop their skills in fundraising and philanthropy.
As Philanthropy and Events Officer, you will support the fundraising team by helping to coordinate activities aimed at securing financial support from corporations, trusts, foundations, and high-net-worth individuals.
You will assist the Head of Philanthropy with building relationships with donors, maintaining records, and contributing to the success of fundraising campaigns that make a real difference in the lives of those affected by Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB).
About Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) Imagine skin as fragile as a butterfly's wings.
That's the reality for people living with EB.
This genetic condition makes the skin extremely susceptible to blistering and tearing, often from everyday activities like walking, eating, or even hugging.
EB can affect people differently, but common challenges include: Painful blisters and wounds: These can occur all over the body, both externally and internally.
Scarring and skin changes: Repeated blistering can lead to scarring, skin thickening, and changes in pigmentation.
Limited mobility: Blisters on the hands and feet can make movement difficult and painful.
Nutritional challenges: Blisters in the mouth and throat can make eating and swallowing challenging.
Increased risk of infections and skin cancer: Open wounds are prone to infection, and individuals with EB have a higher risk of developing certain types of skin cancer.
There is currently no cure for EB, but ongoing research and support services aim to improve the lives of those affected.
