Overview of role: UPMC are recruiting an Access to Care Advisor within the Theatre Scheduling team on a 12-month fixed term contract.
This is a full-time position, based in the UPMC Cleaboy office, Waterford.
The Access to Care Advisor will be part of an integrated team across our UPMC healthcare services that will simplify Access to Care for our patients.
The successful candidate will be expected to operate with agility and diligence to ensure the success of the Access to Care team in the furtherance of our mission of bringing life-changing medicine to all the patients and communities for whom we are privileged to serve.

They will be organised in their approach and competent in the use of technology to facilitate a collaborative and effective way of working.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Facilitate patient access to our services and healthcare professionalsEnsure effective communication to all our stakeholders including patients and staffProvide wide-ranging administrative support to enable the smooth running of our servicesThe Access to Care team is responsible for the efficient processing of administrative support services throughout our facilities and includes:
Inpatient SchedulingOutpatient SchedulingClaims ManagementReferrals ManagementCash Collection/ARPatient ExperienceInpatient scheduling duties include but are not limited to: Responsibility for scheduling patient procedures and related physical pre-assessment appointments in a timely mannerCollection and confirmation of patient demographic and insurance information as required, and enter data accurately into the department's Scheduling system.Ensure timely and effective communication with patients in advance of their admissionEstablish and maintain open and professional communication with ancillary departments and Consultant whose services are scheduled by this departmentCommunication of theatre schedules to relevant departmentsMeet KPI metrics defined for the departmentQualifications & Experience: 12 months experience in a similar role or healthcare settingBusiness/Secretarial QualificationExcellent working knowledge of Microsoft OfficeExperience of healthcare systems including iPims desirableEqual Opportunity Statement and Benefits UPMC is an equal opportunity employer.
