We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our busy mixed practice at Wexford Veterinary Hospital. This full-time, permanent position offers a great opportunity to work in a modern, purpose-built facility with a team dedicated to delivering top-quality veterinary care.
The Role
The role involves a mix of Small Animal (SA) and Large Animal (LA) duties, with a focus on providing routine calls, TB testing, and performing routine operations. You will be working with a team of 8 veterinarians, supported by a skilled nursing and support team, in a practice that values collaboration and professional development.
Key Responsibilities
* Performing routine calls for both Small and Large Animal patients.
* Conducting TB testing and routine operations for Large Animals.
* Providing general veterinary care to a wide variety of species.
* Working closely with a supportive team in a modern, well-equipped practice.
* Sharing on-call duties with another local practice.
* Managing a balanced caseload, with 60% Small Animal and 40% Large Animal work.
Working Hours
* Full-time, 40 hours per week.
* 1 in 4 rota for weekends.
* OOH (Out-of-hours) is shared with another practice.

Applicant Requirements
What we need from you
* Qualified and experienced Veterinary Surgeon with a strong background in Large Animal (LA) care.
* Must be registered with the Veterinary Council of Ireland and certified to carry out TB testing.
* Confident and competent in performing routine calls, TB testing, and carrying out routine operations.
* Experience in SA medicine and surgery is preferable.
* Ability to work in a busy mixed practice, balancing a diverse caseload.
* A proactive, team-oriented approach with a passion for providing high-quality care.
* Must be able to share on-call and weekend duties as part of the 1 in 4 rota.
* A compassionate attitude towards animals and clients alike.
