As Property Solicitor you will be responsible for assisting with property transactions and general legal queries within Coillte Forest to support the implementation of the Coillte Forest strategy.

Reports to: Conveyancing & Legal Manager
Locations: Newtownmountkennedy, Co. Wicklow (or By Agreement)
ResponsibilitiesProperty and Title Work: Transferring property ownership and rights in connection with property purchases and sales entered into by Coillte Forest.Preparing transactional documentation (contracts, transfers, rights of way, wayleaves, licences, deeds of rectification) and undertaking title due diligence.Dealing with property transactions from commencement through to lodging applications for registration in the PRA.Drafting first registration applications and dealing with complex title issues.Advise on a full range of other property title and conveyancing issues including boundary disputes, rights of way, turbary and other burdens on Coillte's estate.Liaising with the Title Researcher to ensure the records of the Coillte estate remain up to date.General Legal Support and Advice: Drafting and providing legal advice on commercial agreements/negotiations.Provide legal support in managing forest property acquisitions.Providing timely and accurate legal advice to the forestry teams within Coillte Forest.Maintain accurate records and promote an attitude of continual improvement to reduce complexity and allow our people to do their best work.Liaise and proactively manage external legal advisers as required.Governance, Compliance & Regulation: Promote the adoption of best practice in legal affairs management.Manage exposure to legal risk and promote compliance.Ensuring compliance with all internal governance.A role model for living the Coillte values and creating the environment for those on the team to do the same.

Ability to work on own initiative and meet tight deadlines.Desired Technical/Professional CompetenciesQualified Solicitor with a minimum of 2 years relevant post qualification experience.Experience in Property Law and Conveyancing essential, particularly in dealing with rural and agricultural property.Strong technical conveyancing and drafting skills.Practical, hands-on attitude in dealing with high volume of legal transactions and ability to work on own initiative.Good aptitude in reading maps.Excellent organisational, communication skills and ICT skills and the ability to use a legal case management system.ApplicationsClosing date for applications is 4pm, Monday, 7 April 2025.
