Job Purpose:
The Logistics Manager will report to the General Manager and have sole responsibility for running the site and overseeing onsite logistics operations. This hands-on role will drive productivity, efficiency, and compliance while fostering a culture of motivation and engagement within the logistics team.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset to enhance supply chain business processes. The company has secured a significant brand in Ireland, and the management of this client is of paramount importance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the onsite logistics and warehousing team to ensure effective and compliant haulage operations.
* Coordinate outgoing deliveries accurately to customer sites and distribution centers, ensuring compliance with domestic and international deadlines.
* Act as the escalation point for haulage-related issues and provide timely resolutions.
* Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement and continuous development initiatives.
* Collaborate with corporate supply chain and customer service teams to meet customer requirements efficiently.
* Supervise carriers and freight operators, driving performance improvements and fostering strong working relationships.
* Coach and develop the logistics team to implement best practices and achieve continuous improvements.
* Ensure all team members are adequately trained, maintaining accurate and up-to-date training records.
* Partner with site management and supply chain stakeholders to develop and implement an optimized future warehouse and haulage model.
* Monitor and update relevant key performance indicators (KPIs) via local and corporate dashboards.
Qualifications/Experience:
* Proficiency in Excel, with 3+ years of expertise in haulage operations.
* A third-level qualification in Supervision/Management or a minimum of 5 years in a relevant logistics leadership role.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and influencing skills.
* Strong systems aptitude and computer literacy.
* Proactive with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels and across different cultural backgrounds.
* Strong knowledge of safety standards and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
