Little Island Books is seeking an editor to join itsteam.
Applicants should possess extensive editorial experience, a passion for publishing, and the drive to contribute to a small but ambitious company’s expansion. The role involves publishing new and engaging titles, collaborating closely with authors to hone their manuscripts, and contributing creatively to the team’s vision. Essential skills include a strong command of English, excellent interpersonal communication, and proficiency in MicrosoftWord.
Preference will be given to candidates with a background in children’s, teen, and YA literature, knowledge of the Irish book market, multilingual abilities (especially in Irish), event management experience, and familiarity with design software like Canva or InDesign. A degree in English or a related field is desirable but notmandatory.
The position offers flexibility in terms of office and remote work, catering to individuals seeking a balance between professional commitments and personal circumstances, such as parental responsibilities. The successful candidate will be based in Dublin and should have the legal right to work within the EU .
