This position provides the opportunity to work on exciting new projects, producing detailed designs for Water & Wastewater Treatment Plants across Ireland as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering and project delivery team. An important aspect will be focusing on delivering work efficiently and effectively, while maintaining and developing electrical design standards within the company. The role will require strong technical skills and communication and interaction with managers, engineers, internal and external team members, clients and suppliers. General Day to Day of the role;Develop new electrical designs and innovative concepts to meet project requirementsAssess and interpret client specifications to ensure alignment with project goalsPrepare detailed electrical technical designs and submissions for approvalDesign systems for electrical distribution, general services, lighting, fire and intruder alarms, motor control panels, and containment systemsDesign electrical instrumentation systems to meet operational needsAssist in the development and structuring of system architecture for projectsPrepare comprehensive Cable, IO, and Power schedules for project planningEvaluate and select sub-contractors and suppliers to ensure quality and project successSpecify equipment requirements in collaboration with the purchasing departmentCoordinate with cross-functional teams (e.g., design, contracts, control & automation) to ensure project efficiency and cohesionMaintain regular communication with clients to provide updates and address any queries or concernsSupport and manage team members, ensuring they are well-supported, motivated, and have the resources needed for successDelegation of workload across the team ensuring resources are appropriately applied to meet project requirementsApply knowledge of automation hardware, architecture and systems to ensure integrated, efficient, and scalable solutionsUpdate and modify single line diagrams, panel schematics and wiring diagrams as requiredPrepare SAT/FAT documentation to ensure compliance with specifications and standardsDevelop Control Philosophies and Functional Design Specifications (FDS)Manage project documentation in accordance with the requirements of the Project Quality PlanEnsure compliance with IS, EN, BS, and IEC standards during the design and implementation phasesOccasionally travel to site to support site activities as requiredTo be successful in this role you will need: Industry Knowledge: Experience in the water and wastewater treatment sector is highly desirable.Education: Accredited NFQ Level 8 Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline.Experience: 7+ years of experience in a similar role, demonstrating a strong track record of success.Organisational Skills: Strong ability to stay organised, manage multiple priorities, and ensure efficient workflows.Time Management & Communication: Excellent time management skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with team members, stakeholders, and clients.Leadership & Team Management: Proven experience leading a team, including delegating tasks, scheduling work, providing guidance, and overseeing personnel to ensure project success.Technical Expertise: In-depth understanding of electrical design standards and regulations, with the ability to apply this knowledge to solve complex technical challenges.
