Job Overview
As Assistant Sustainability Manager, you will support the Senior Sustainability Manager and Director of Sustainable Business in developing, tracking, and executing our Sustainability Strategy. You will play a critical role in monitoring the macro environment, including legislative developments, consumer attitudes, and customer behavior regarding Sustainability to inform Britvic Ireland's Sustainability Strategy. Additionally, you will have a key responsibility in Sustainability Reporting, compiling annual reporting commitments and responding to ad hoc requirements.
Key Responsibilities
PLANET
* Reporting: You will be responsible for internal and external reporting of our Sustainability strategy and metrics, including Origin Green, Repak Plastics Pledge, and BITCI Low Carbon Pledge. You will also respond to Irish Customer Sustainability reporting requests.
* Policy & Legislation: You will stay up-to-date on the latest developments in Sustainability-based legislative and regulatory requirements and their implications for Britvic Ireland, sharing this information with relevant members of the leadership team and ensuring it is embedded in our business strategy and planning process.
* Sustainability Projects: Leading and supporting Sustainability-based projects as required, such as our Cooler strategy, biodiversity plans, and water/carbon reduction projects.
* Internal Communications & Education: Development of internal communications materials to educate and engage all employees on Sustainability-related challenges and opportunities within the business.
* Customer Engagement: Work with the Customer Management Team to communicate our Sustainability strategy and collaborate with our customers to deliver on shared sustainability-led goals.
DRS
* You will support the DRS Programme by collating and managing data for reporting to DRS Ireland and become an essential point of contact for all DRS Ireland SKU set-up, queries, and issues.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required
* In-depth knowledge of key environmental and social challenges facing the sector.
* Experience in an Environmental or Sustainability role would be strongly beneficial.
* Highly organized with a methodical approach and the confidence to plan and organize your workload effectively and accurately, working on your own initiative and meeting deadlines.
* Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office suite to an intermediate level.
* Excellent people skills with a friendly, approachable manner; enjoys working and supporting a team with the initiative to work independently.
* Exceptional attention to detail skills with the ability to work quickly and accurately to a high standard.

Qualification
* Third-level education desirable, plus a recognized qualification in Sustainability.
