Job Summary
The Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Officer plays a pivotal role in maintaining compliance with local, national, and industry-specific regulations. This position is essential in fostering a safety-oriented culture within the organization by conducting risk assessments, training employees, and ensuring adherence to legal and company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies and procedures aligned with regulatory requirements.
* Conduct thorough risk assessments and site inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
* E nsure compliance with environmental regulations, including waste management, pollution control, and sustainability initiatives.
* Deliver comprehensive EHS training sessions and toolbox talks to employees at all levels.
* Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, providing detailed reports with recommendations for improvement.
* Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, risk assessments, and EHS training.
* Cordinate emergency response procedures, including fire safety and first aid preparedness.
* Liaise with regulatory authorities and ensure timely reporting of any compliance-related matters.
* Promote a culture of safety through engagement, awareness programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Monitor and analyze key safety performance indicators, providing regular reports to management.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
* Relevant certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA) are highly desirable.
