Your Role
This is a crucial role in the daily smooth operations of the Home, reporting to and directly supporting the Home Manager in all aspects of the Management of the Home.
Some main responsibilities will include:
* Ensuring a high standard of care in the Home
* Meeting the physical, social, emotional & spiritual needs of the resident
* Participating in formulation and carrying out care plans
* Responsible for daily care & wellbeing of the residents
* Participating in organising the admission of residents
* Assist in ensuring therapeutic programmes of activities are undertaken within day areas
* Awareness of complaints, taking immediate action & reporting to the Manager
* Delivering efficient & effective service
* Lead or assist with daily devotions within the Home, ensure residents receive proper pastoral care
* Identifying training needs for all levels inc. Induction Training, QCF & Dementia Training
* Administrative tasks, liaising with maintenance, dealing with enquires, maintaining stock levels, liaising with resident's families, doctors, Trust staff etc.
* Assist in preparing staff rotas, checking off time sheets
Your Experience
Minimum 3 years' experience providing care to older people or people with a disability in a regulated service
Minimum Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent
Understanding of the current Regulations & Standards for service, including delivery of person-centred services
Knowledge of current health & social services available for those with additional needs
Ability to carry out assessments, develop & implement care plans to meet the needs of residents
Experience ordering, receiving & administering medication
Experience of liaising with RQIA
Previous experience of supervising staff
Excellent written communication skills, highly organised with an adaptable approach
Strong interpersonal skills, team player and leader
Must be registered with or able to register within 6 months with the NISCC, NMC or other relevant professional body
