Mercer Description: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract (Maternity Cover) We are seeking a talented individual to join our Accounting team at Mercer.
This role will be based in Dublin.
This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
The Accounts Assistant will report to the Head of Client Asset Oversight and will be part of a wider team of approx.
16 staff.
The team also works closely with finance staff located offshore.
The role main responsibility is the preparation of the daily bank reconciliations of our client assets bank accounts to ensure the Companys internal and external reporting and regulatory requirements are met.
We will rely on you to: Prepare daily client assets bank reconciliations.
Investigate and follow up on any unreconciled outstanding items.
Prepare daily Pension Payments and Third Party bank reconciliations.
Prepare the monthly regulatory client assets return for submission to the Central Bank of Ireland.
Submit the bank balances PeopleSoft report at month end.
Prepare journals for posting to general ledger at month end.
Responsible for the daily sundry receipts reconciliation and follow up process to ensure no regulatory breaches are identified.
Assist and support with Internal and External Audits as required.
Assist the financial account in the preparation of reports and other activities as required.
Provide support to management in continuously identifying more efficient and effective ways of operating to secure efficiencies, reduce wastage, improve speed and enhance quality.
What you will need to have: Experience working in a finance department, preferably in the General Ledger area.
High level of accuracy/attention to detail.
Good organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
Effective communication skills and personality to interface regularly with other team members and senior staff.
Experience working with Microsoft Excel using pivot tables and V lookups.
Diligent and enthusiastic with a proactive and flexible style of working.

Part qualified accountant or a business/finance degree desirable.
