NOTE: Candidates need to have a VALID WORK PERMIT for Ireland. We are NOT in a position to offer visa Sponsorship at this time.
At Robinson, we specialize in the production of HGV trailers, cranes, tippers, and bodies.
We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer who is interested and excited to take responsibility for a new upcoming project.
The candidate will have sole responsibility for the engineering requirements on this project.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with the management team to design and develop the product.
2. Reverse engineer the project so that bill of materials are in the ERP system and drawings are available for assembly before the project goes live.
3. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and legislation, EU & UK markets.
4. Create and interpret production drawings, including schematics and electrical/hydraulic systems.
5. Utilize SolidWorks for 3D modelling and design.
6. Perform FEA analysis and prepare detailed reports.
7. Generate BOM (Bill of Materials) for production.
8. Optimize nesting and machine programming for efficient manufacturing.
9. Sourcing products and setting up part numbers for the purchasing department.
Skills Required:
1. Strong proficiency in SolidWorks with an excellent command of the software.
2. Experience with FEA analysis and preparation of comprehensive reports.
3. Knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems in the context of machinery design.
4. Proficient in reading and understanding legislation relevant to the industry.
5. Familiarity with production drawings and ability to create accurate schematics.
6. Understanding of nesting and machine programming, with the ability to optimize these processes.
7. Previous experience managing a new project end to end.
8. Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to take a hands-on approach to issues that arise during the build stage.
9. Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to deliver work to high standards.
10. Flexible with excellent time management skills.
11. Solutions driven, can-do attitude with a focus on continuous improvement.
12. Strong hands-on experience with machinery, plant, HGV, agricultural & familiar with how they work.
Experience in a similar or related field (agri/quarry/plant machinery). This will be a hands-on position from design right through to manufacturing stages.
