We are seeking a Buyer to join the Dowds Group.
The successful candidate will have responsibility for undertaking negotiations and administration in the purchasing of materials, plant, specialist services, labour, and consultancy services on behalf of the Dowds Group.
Key Responsibilities:
* Liaise with delivery teams in all matters laid out within the company buying strategy.
* Raise purchase orders on the accounts system as set out in the company IMS.
* Process purchase orders with specific T&Cs and contract conditions.
* Collate and book in all delivery dockets/advice notes on system, ensuring delivery items match purchase order.
* Resolve supplier discrepancies and deal with any queries between site, suppliers, and accounts.
* Manage material returns
* Meet with suppliers to develop effective relationships for the benefit of the Dowds Group.
Requirements:
* Effective communicator

* Excellent numeric and processing capabilities
* Computer literate with excellent knowledge of Microsoft Packages
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
* Ability to work on own initiative
* Attention to detail and ability to prioritise workload
* Ability to take and follow instruction
* Desirable: experience in Sage200/Construct Extension and M&E or Construction sector
