Reporting to the IT Director, you will be a key member of the IT Management team responsible for all areas of Software Development.
You will manage developments relating to a significant rewrite of legacy code on the Enterprise ERP system, as well as Change Requests and other ad-hoc changes/support requests.
The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the technology landscape.
You will have direct line responsibility for teams comprising circa 20+ FTE developers as well as managing a strategic partner based in Portugal.
Occasional travel will be required to the UK and Portugal/Spain.
You will have a technical/developer background.
Ideally, you will have direct experience in developing enterprise ERP, Warehouse Management software systems, or related/similar applications.
What you will do: Manage software teams comprising circa 20+ software developers - internal FTE and Strategic Partner resources across multiple regions.
Provide strategic thinking and leadership to the development of the ERP, Warehouse Management Systems, and related Business Applications.
Communicate project and delivery progress clearly to key stakeholders, including the IT Director and IT Management Team.
Ensure adherence to best-in-class development practices, bringing external perspectives and insights to enhance organizational capabilities.
Direct line management for planning, resourcing, and team delivery of the software pipeline.
Develop and support the growth of software development talent, offering opportunities for career advancement, mentorship, and skill development.
What you need: 5 – 10 years of leadership experience in software development, particularly with a low-code/no-code environment.
10 – 15 years of overall relevant IT/software experience.
A proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions on time and within budget, coupled with experience managing medium to large development teams.
Extensive knowledge of software development methodologies, theories, practices, and tools.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships across all organizational levels and departments.
Experience in DevOps, Low Code/No Code, Release Management, .NET & Microsoft technologies is a distinct advantage.
Experience in one of Food, FMCG, manufacturing, or supply chain/logistics industries is a distinct advantage.
