Clinical Nurse Manager I (CNM1) Medical/Surgical Permanent Contract, Full time Hours The primary role of the Clinical Nurse Manager I is one of clinical and professional leadership in the clinical nursing team.
The Clinical Nurse Manager 1 will be a role model and will provide clinical expertise and support within the team Responsibilities: Establish and maintain caring and therapeutic interpersonal relationships with individuals, clients, groups and communities.
Ensure confidentiality on all clinical and non-clinical information.
Develop leadership skills to create a suitable environment and effective team working.
Ensure new members to the clinical area are made feel welcome and a have adequate support.
Ensuring that the CNM 1 has the skills of critical analysis, problem solving, decision making, reflective skills and abilities essential to the art and science of nursing.
Ensure the clinical environment is conducive to supportingthe learning and education of all staff.
Allocate staff to patients in a fair and equitable manner taking cognizance of the expertise of staff and maximizing learning opportunities for staff and students.
Participate in the orientation of all new staff members as required.
Participate in continuing education of qualified nurses, as required.
Engage in performance review processes including personal development planning as appropriate.
Eligibility Criteria:
Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition: Are registered in the General Nurse Division of the Register of Nurses and Midwives, as appropriate, maintained by the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI / Bord Altranais agus Cnimhseachais na hireann).
Have 3 years post registration nursing experience of which 1 year post registration full time experience must be in the speciality or related area.
Candidates must possess the requisite clinical, leadership, managerial and administrative knowledge and ability for the proper discharge of the office.
Candidates must demonstrate evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
