An opportunity now arises for an Accounts Payable Technician to join the Croke Park Finance team and have responsibility for processing invoices, verifying accuracy, and ensuring timely payments to suppliers of Pairc an Chrocaigh & Group companies.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Croke Park Financial Controller and duties will include: Credit control: Process incoming invoices accurately and efficiently.
Verify that invoices are supported by appropriate documentation and approvals.
Code invoices to the correct general ledger and cost centers.
Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies.
Prepare and perform weekly and monthly payment runs.
Communicate with suppliers regarding payment inquiries and discrepancies.
Assist with month end closing processes as needed.
Maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions.
Assist in the preparation of financial reports related to accounts payable.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Cash Office duties on match / event days: Preparing cash floats for distribution to concession stalls.
Reconciling cash and till sheets.
Additional duties: Preparation of ad hoc reports as required by departmental line managers re the analysis of expenditure.
Accounts preparation for smaller group entities.
Any other such projects or responsibilities as deemed appropriate by the Manager.
Requirements Education A relevant third level qualification in Accounting, Finance or related area.
Experience At least 2 years experience in a similar role.
Strong relevant experience in financial operations, accounting, and reporting.
Hands on experience of IT and accounting systems.
Skills and Abilities Excellent communication and presentation skills (verbal and written).
High standard administrative and IT skills (Microsoft Office).
Exceptional interpersonal skills and a strong ability to work in high-pressure situations and manage strict deadlines.
Strong organisational skills and demonstrable ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities.
Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
Evident problem-solving skills with an ability to act on own initiative.
Ability to work match and events days.
Desirable Knowledge and understanding of the GAA and Croke Park and their respective structures and activities.
A knowledge of the Microsoft Dynamics Software package.
