Job Description Summary
You have the opportunity to join one of the world's largest pharmaceutical companies and contribute to ensuring Irish patients have access to innovative medicines. Novartis employs approximately 900 people in Ireland, with our medicines reaching over a quarter of a million people every year.
Key Responsibilities:
* Contribute to strategic discussions as an integral part of the Novartis Ireland leadership team.
* Lead public affairs advocacy for Novartis Ireland, representing the company to policymakers and stakeholders.
* Analyze and anticipate policy developments relevant to Novartis's priority areas: Oncology, Immunology, Cell and Gene Therapies, Cardiovascular, and Neuroscience.
* Lead country-level advocacy on EU policies and legislations affecting Novartis Ireland, working with Brussels and Basel Public Affairs teams.
* Maintain awareness of the political landscape and emerging issues within the company and across national and above-country levels.
* Develop and deliver public affairs strategies and messages to support Novartis' work, collaborating with internal experts.
* Create public affairs materials for external engagement, including messaging documents, policy narratives, consultation responses, and internal briefings.
* Serve as the point person for interactions with the national trade association and other partners.
Minimum Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Social Science, Economics, or a related field.
* Five years of relevant work experience, including interactions with political stakeholders.
* Demonstrated knowledge of the Irish public administration and political decision-making processes.
* Experience working in complex, matrixed structures.
* Commercial awareness.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English language).
Desirable Skills:
* Political experience in government, parliament, or a political party.
* Insight into the pharmaceutical industry and Irish healthcare administration.
* Experience working in a highly regulated industry with strict compliance processes.
