In this wide-ranging role, you will coordinate the production of detailed geotechnical calculations and analysis, lead site investigations and risk assessments, and oversee geotechnical design (shallow strips/pads, piled foundations, slope stability, retaining structures, basement construction, temporary works etc.), specification and procurement.
You will be commercially focussed, with a proven track record in building and maintaining client relationships and work winning, as well as being responsible for the effective management and mentoring of less experienced members of the geotechnical team.
The Skills
A chartered engineer, with a first degree in either earth science or civil engineering and ideally with a post graduate qualification in geotechnical engineering or engineering geology, you have extensive experience in a broad range of geotechnical engineering work including the design of basement excavations, retaining structures, shallow and deep foundations, slope stability and landslide analysis, earthworks, ground improvement and rock engineering applications.
You are fully conversant with principles of soil and rock mechanics, hydrogeology and undertaking designs in accordance with Eurocode 7 and other good practice. You will also be experienced in the use of geotechnical analysis software.
To succeed in this role, you will bring demonstrable technical and management skills over a variety of multi-disciplinary project types, with a strong desire to not only grow a team around you in Dublin but also contribute to the wider geotechnical team.
An understanding of hydrogeology and geoenvironmental issues, including, contaminated land regulations would be useful but not essential.
Given the collaborative and client focussed nature of this role, excellent communication skills and experience of using your initiative and negotiating skills to overcome challenges are essential.
