ROLE SUMMARY:
1. Assembly of Electrical Switchgear and associated Electromechanical equipment/systems to engineering drawings and production timescales.
2. To apply good workmanship, ensuring quality standards are maintained for the products both in the factory and at customers' premises.
3. To adhere to all Company Policies and Procedures.
Responsibilities & Expectations:
1. Working from drawings, manuals, schematics, etc.
2. Proven experience working on assembly of both mechanical and electrical equipment and electromechanical systems.
3. To contribute to fitting, building, or construction of various parts to ensure a smooth process of component amalgamation.
4. Good electro/mechanical skills.
5. Assembly of parts or components to build a new or repeatable product.
6. Ability to work on own initiative with minimal supervision.
7. Sound knowledge of engineering tools and electrical hand tools and equipment including torquing.
8. Maturity and engineering practicality.
9. Adherence to Company policies and procedures.
10. Ability to mentor and develop team members.
11. Apply good workmanship and ensure quality standards are met and maintained.
12. Report any substandard/malfunction or defective parts.
13. Select, measure, and modify components to ensure component fit.
14. Carry out MTOs and order material for allocated tasks both internal and for site works.
15. Assemble prototype and development units with Supervisors and managers.
16. Ensure working environment and equipment are kept clean, tidy, and in good condition.
17. Working to deadlines and strict adherence to Quality and H&S principles.
18. Positive attitude, flexible working O/T as required, and ability to fit in as part of a team.
19. Complete testing of panel, up to and including current injection.
20. Mechanical/electrical maintenance work and site modifications.
21. Thermal Imaging inspections and report writing.
22. Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience/Qualification Criteria:
1. C&G Electrical Qualification & an Engineering Apprenticeship with AM2 or equivalent.
2. Mechanical knowledge would be advantageous.
3. Experience in Electrical switchgear manufacture or similar.
4. Experience in field service work/on-site installations.
5. Familiar with Risk Assessments and Method statements.
6. Current 18th Edition certification.
7. Must be a time-served Electrician/Technician with experience of either Panel wiring of PLC's, Motor control centres, control panels, etc. or experience of industrial installation i.e., Water treatment plants, Petro-Chemical with experience of MCC's, instrumentation, etc.
