Position Title: General Maintenance Worker (23370)
Reports To: Facilities Maintenance Supervisor
Position Location: US Army, Camp Park Reserve Forces Training Area, Dublin, California
Work Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm, Occasional evening and/or weekend
Hourly Wage: $29.52 per hour, with benefits.
Qualifications:
* Must have a disability documented in writing by a physician licensed in the State of California as credentialed to diagnose and capable of diagnosing the specific disability, or a written certification of disability by a California State rehabilitation agency.
* Must pass a government security clearance upon application as well as subsequent criminal background checks and not be subject to revocation of facility access during the term of employment. Must possess a valid California Driver's license for the duration of employment.
* Three (3) to Five (5) years of experience working in a facility maintenance operation is a plus.
* Possess basic knowledge and understanding of HVAC, Plumbing, Carpentry, and Electrical is a plus.
* Capable of working alone and unsupervised, and within a fast-paced environment, as well as in a team environment.
* Possess strong communication skills, including written and interpersonal skills; along with the ability to work autonomously with little to no supervision.
* Must be flexible and able to change priorities as management and government priorities change.
* Possess knowledge of Computers and Microsoft Office Suite and Tools. Training and certifications within various facility maintenance is a plus.
Duties:
Responsible for performing basic, routine, and periodic general maintenance, repair, and upkeep of government-owned facilities and associated systems in accordance with prescribed service, quality, and standards on a timely basis and by prescribed maintenance schedule.
* Perform building inspections and on-demand repairs.
* Perform installations and repairs to interior walls, tile, carpet, and coverings made of various materials.
* Assist and perform other maintenance duties in coordination with other functional areas: HVAC, Carpentry, Electrical, Plumbing, and Grounds as needed and depending on the needs of management.
* Perform installations and repairs to various hardware, including but not limited to lights, windows, and door fixtures.
* Operate and maintain a variety of maintenance-associated power tools, lifting and mechanical equipment, and ladders.
* Required moderate moving and transporting items up to 40 pounds unassisted and occasionally moving and/or maneuvering heavier items with the assistance of lifting devices; along with climbing ladders and scaffolding on a routine and consistent basis.
* Conduct research and obtain parts and material quotes along with utilizing the work order system to log and update work activities.
* Ability to maneuver within tight spaces and within a fixed area for periods of 60 minutes at a time.
* Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by supervisors, management, or as business needs dictate.
Training:
A comprehensive training is provided to all workers. Job assignments are made according to experience and skill level and/or successful completion of various elements of the training program.
