Whilst this role is primarily on site, my client may well facilitate a day a week from home.
To support site safety in manufacturing/production, the role ensures compliance with current legal requirements and best practices. This involves minimizing risks and maintaining correct working practices through a foundation of culture and positive safety behaviors. Continuous improvement in health, safety, and environmental practices across all business areas is essential.
Responsibilities:
* Develop the EHS strategy for the site and identify key projects to deliver all primary metrics.
* Report monthly to the EHS corporate team and site management on key lagging and leading indicators for the site.
* Manage the incident investigation process on site and report to regulatory and corporate bodies as required.
* Coordinate with operations teams to ensure corrective actions are identified and implemented.
* Support subsidiary sites in Ireland on EHS matters.
* Provide EH&S support for value streams to ensure products and deliveries are built in the safest and most efficient manner.
* Monitor key changes in legislation and report to management to ensure site compliance.
* Manage the site’s ISO standards, including 45001, 14001, 15001, and 14064, and coordinate key activities and audits.
* Ensure that standard work requirements are compliant for the relevant modules, referring to BOS for responsibilities.
* Manage the site’s Behavioral Based Safety program, ensuring that all observations and corrective actions are completed on schedule.
* Manage the site’s ergonomic program.
* Manage EHS training management per the training matrix.
* Reduce the site’s carbon footprint by identifying projects to assist in achieving goals of reducing greenhouse gases.
Minimum Requirements:
* An Honours Degree (L8) in Health and Safety or equivalent.
* 5+ years of experience working in a world-class manufacturing facility is preferred.
* Good all-round knowledge of EHS in the workplace.
* Strong communication skills, including influencing, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
* Accomplished program management skills.
* Advanced skills in business, finance, leadership, and cross-functional awareness.
