The Group is experiencing significant growth due to its focus on off-site construction methods (OSM) of delivering turnkey projects, meaning on-site construction time is kept to a minimum.
Role Description
Due to continued expansion, we now seek a senior commissioning engineer to ensure installed water treatment systems operate in a correct and safe manner and will meet the client's requirements. Our ideal candidate will be self-motivated with a high level of energy. This individual must be capable of independent and teamwork environments. This position demands an individual with a strong detail-oriented work style, excellent oral and written communication skills, and an accommodating and proactive attitude.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. Monitor and verify that all equipment operates according to the design specifications, ensuring optimal functionality and performance.
2. Conduct regular assessments and reviews to ensure compliance with technical standards and specifications, addressing any deviations promptly.
3. Implement and enforce safety protocols for all equipment and operations to meet both internal and regulatory safety standards.
4. Conduct safety audits and work closely with the safety team to promote a safe working environment.
5. Utilise a variety of diagnostic tools and techniques to address complex technical issues, minimising downtime and ensuring equipment performance is restored quickly.
6. Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring tasks are completed within established deadlines and in alignment with budgetary constraints.
7. Collaborate with other teams to prioritise tasks and resources effectively, ensuring that all project milestones are met on time and within budget.
8. Collaborate with project engineers to review technical requirements, timelines, and ensure smooth coordination across the project lifecycle.
9. Provide technical guidance and support to both installation and project engineers to troubleshoot issues and streamline the installation process.
10. Develop, implement, and oversee testing and validation procedures to ensure equipment performance meets both customer and regulatory requirements.
11. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of test procedures, recommending improvements where necessary to optimize performance and reliability.
12. Work with the Commissioning Lead Engineer to create a detailed commissioning plan that outlines tasks, timelines, and responsibilities.
13. Coordinate the execution of the commissioning plan, ensuring the timely and successful handover of fully functional systems.
14. Regularly review and update SOO documents to reflect changes in equipment, regulations, or industry standards.
15. Write, review, and execute commissioning scripts for various equipment and systems (L1-L6), ensuring each stage of the process is properly documented and followed.
16. Ensure all commissioning scripts are comprehensive, clear, and accurately represent the necessary procedures to meet operational standards.
17. Develop and manage Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), and Performance Qualification (PQ) processes, ensuring all relevant documentation is prepared and maintained.
18. Create detailed validation and commissioning documents that demonstrate compliance with industry standards, regulations, and customer requirements.
19. Ensure that accurate As-Built documentation is produced, reflecting the final configuration of equipment, systems, and installations.
20. Provide comprehensive training to clients and end-users on the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment and systems.
Required Qualifications and Experience
1. A relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or Automation/Instrument Engineering.
2. Minimum 5 year's complex projects commissioning experience is essential within the Data Centre, Industrial, Municipal and Pharma sectors.
3. Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
4. Fluent English speaker with strong speaking skills as the position will require presentations to clients.
5. Must exhibit strong project management skills.
6. Work in a multi-disciplinary team in for a wide variety of water treatment projects.
7. Strong detail-oriented work style, and an accommodating and proactive attitude.
8. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
9. Proficiency in the use of 2D/3D CAD and Revit is an advantage.
10. Permit to Work in the EU.
