Role: Assurance Manager Operations Business Services (OBS) First Line Assurance - Group Resilience Location: Molesworth Street, Dublin 2 / Hybrid Working What is the role? The Assurance Manager plays a crucial role in delivering significant assurance programmes for senior management (including ExCo) and key stakeholders across the Group. This is achieved by working in close collaboration with engagement leads and control testers. A key part of the role is to lead a diverse and continuously developing team, to meet business needs in an operationally efficient and effective way: executing robust assurance plans with high quality and timely reporting. The team provides assurance on the quality and effectiveness of the Chief Operating Office's internal control systems including dedicated assurance programmes for Financial Crime and Group-wide Third-Party Management (TPM). The Assurance Manager will work closely with an established manager as well as the Head of Assurance (HoA) to ensure high quality outputs and delivery for wider team strategy. Key accountabilities Demonstrating strong accountability as a key member of the management team that supports the development and delivery of a comprehensive first line assurance plan across OBS and AIB Group Applying critical thinking and taking responsibility for driving effective test programmes on TPM, Financial Crime, and Operations - developing / overseeing appropriate testing, adding strategic value and working collaboratively in the delivery of agreed objectives. Leading a team of risk assurance specialists and control testers on effective testing, guiding the team in learning and developing through analysis and shared experience Understanding the value of objective data-based insights and driving relevant analyses for succinct, bias-free reporting Taking responsibility for delivering high quality audit reports with appropriate recommendations Using strong influence and persuasion with key stakeholders and senior leaders to ensure that relevant risk environments are appropriately monitored and improved Presenting the annual assurance plan and regular assurance updates to the HoA and / or risk committees and fora, where required Applying extensive knowledge, technical expertise and substantive insights Actively building relationships throughout AIB, including other assurance functions, to keep abreast of best practice and assurance developments What you Will Bring Significant people leader experience with a natural aptitude for motivational leadership Relevant degree qualification with a minimum of 5 years' management experience in a financial services risk assurance (or similarly regulated) control environment in audit or compliance management, with a preference for candidates with ACCA, ACA, CMIIA, CIA, CFCP, CISA or ACOI certification Proven experience of assurance and risk management including Regulatory, Financial, Operational and Data Risk, and clear understanding and knowledge of control and risk management methodologies, with demonstrable experience of managing reviews.
