Social Media and Communications Coordinator
The Social Media & Communications Coordinator will be responsible for developing and implementing creative engagement strategies and executing marketing plans to increase student engagement and elevate the College’s online media presence. The successful candidate will work closely with relevant stakeholders and the company Director to ensure marketing goals are met with increased student conversions and retention.
This role requires a creative and responsible individual with proven marketing and social media skills, excellent attention to detail, exemplary writing skills, strong communication skills and organizational skills.
Social Media & Content Creation:
* Plan and implement the college’s online advertising and marketing campaigns to reach the college’s demographic.
* Further development and maintenance of main social media channels utilised by the college: Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, TikTok, Thread, WhatsApp and Instagram etc.
* Create, design and manage visual content (video & images) for social media channels including TikTok video content.
* Plan, manage and organise innovative marketing strategies.
* Develop and expand existing TOC Alumni LinkedIn Network.
* Implement and deliver email marketing campaigns.
* Plan and implement an annual content calendar.
* Social media community engagement through answering comments and posting relevant content on all social media channels.
* Copywriting when necessary, on ad hoc projects i.e. student awards, radio blurbs/adverts, tv, magazine articles etc.
* Collaborate, strategise and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure visibility and branding strategies/tactics are aligned with the college’s business strategies and objectives.
* Present proposals, progression reports and revised strategies to management.
Student Engagement:
* Plan and host quarterly guest speaker events.
* Plan and manage Student Workshops on topics related to their education – i.e. Academic Writing, English Language Writing etc.
* Manage Charity Partner Programmes.
* Podcast Production - recording regular podcasts with special guests on relevant topics.
* Building student relationships and increasing engagement.
* Develop our own student benefits package.
* Devise unique ideas to drive student engagement in academic and non-academic activities.
* Manage student surveys, feedback and engagements.
* Engage with students and further/higher education staff to promote the inclusion of students with disabilities.
* Work alongside Resourcing & Recruitment to further develop career support services.
* Plan & organise events such as Open Days and Careers Fair to strengthen partnerships and networks.
Qualification, Experience & Skills Required:
* A third level qualification in Social Media, Communications or related fields.
* At least 2 years of relevant professional experience.
* The ability to draft and evaluate key advertising and marketing messages.
* Up-to-date with the latest digital trends and best practices in social media management.
* A creative and innovative approach style in identifying and implementing areas of possible change and growth.
* Flexible, adaptable, and willing to listen and make changes.
* Excellent marketing and social media skills across all digital media platforms.
* A working knowledge of content creation for offline, online, and social media channels.
* Experience in developing and managing relationships with students, and other key stakeholders.
