About The Role
We are seeking an exceptional Executive Chef to lead the culinary vision of our private, high-end nursing home in South Co Dublin- a home where quality, dignity, and excellence are non-negotiable. This role is located in Blackrock Co Dublin.
This is not a typical care home kitchen. This is an opportunity for a talented and passionate chef to design and deliver a luxury dining experience that reflects the very best in hospitality - tailored to meet the unique needs of each resident in a person-centred and health-conscious way.
The Executive Chef will be the driving force behind our culinary excellence, overseeing all aspects of food production and presentation while working to the highest standards of food safety, innovation, and care. The role requires flair, precision, leadership, and a genuine passion for enhancing residents' quality of life through food.
Key Responsibilities
Culinary Leadership & Innovation
* Develop and execute seasonal, nutritious, and sophisticated menus with the same attention to detail found in fine dining establishments.
* Ensure food is not only tailored to medical and dietary needs, but also delivered with a sense of occasion, pleasure, and pride.
* Create a dining experience that is restaurant-quality, elegant, and deeply personal, honouring individual tastes and cultural backgrounds.
Dining Experience Oversight
* Lead the full dining experience across the home - from the kitchen to the table - ensuring consistency, ambience, and service that exceed expectations.
* Oversee table settings, presentation, and mealtime flow to mirror high-end hospitality standards.
* Ensure all residents experience the joy, comfort, and dignity of beautifully prepared food, presented with care.
Team Leadership & Culture
* Recruit, inspire, and mentor a kitchen team that shares your passion for culinary perfection and service excellence.
* Create a kitchen culture that values quality, respect, innovation, and continuous learning.
* Drive performance through clear standards, constructive feedback, and professional development.
Food Safety, Compliance & Accountability
* Maintain exemplary standards of hygiene and food safety, ensuring full compliance with HACCP, EHO, and sector-specific legislation.
* Conduct rigorous audits, checks, and training to ensure no detail is overlooked in kitchen operations.
* Ensure seamless allergen management and documentation at all times.
Resident-Centred Service
* Work collaboratively with care and clinical teams to ensure food aligns with individual care plans, swallowing needs, and therapeutic diets.
* Proactively engage with residents and their families to gather feedback, celebrate preferences, and deliver memorable food experiences.
* Lead the planning and execution of special events, seasonal celebrations, and bespoke catering for guests and families.
Procurement & Financial Management
* Select and manage premium suppliers to ensure the highest quality ingredients are sourced sustainably and efficiently.
* Operate within budget while never compromising on freshness, flavour, or presentation.
* Track food costs, wastage, and stock levels to maintain both quality and cost control.
