Job Description:
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Healthcare Assistant for Beaumont Nursing Home.

Hours of work: Average 40.25 hours per week.
Salary: €15.50 per hour.
Purpose of the role: To provide support and share responsibility with the Clinical Team for the assessment of patient's needs, training and orientation of new staff, and the ongoing day-to-day supervision of the Health Care Assistant's Team.
Responsibilities:
* Delegate staff and monitor all HCA activities.
* Ensure compliance with uniform, work permit, and time management policies.
* Ensure the team is updated on any changes to care plans or resident's health status.
* Identify training needs of the team to provide appropriate care to all patients/residents.
* Educate and train HCAs on specific resident care needs, activities, and conditions required.
* Carry out care and train carers according to the company's clinical policies.
* Support the team following grief, loss, and bereavement of a resident.
* Attend regular meetings with the management team.
* Assist with preparing, managing, and being responsible for the HCA roster, including the management of annual leave, absences, and swaps.
* Contribute to and assist with staff appraisals and supervision.
Learning & Development:
* Promote learning and development by encouraging individual's interests.
* Encourage staff to communicate their learning needs and identify areas for improvement.
* Identify own learning needs and address any limitations as necessary. Participate in the personal and professional development of the HCAs with guidance and assistance from the Clinical Team.
Communication:
* Foster, maintain, and ensure effective communication with and between the Clinical Care Team, the families, the patients/residents, and the MDT.
Clinical Governance:
* Ensure a high standard of care and service provided by continual monitoring, auditing, and inspection of the systems in place. Provide your Home Manager with a weekly report regarding the same.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Minimum 3 years relevant experience in a residential or hospital environment.
* Previous experience as a Team Leader/Mentor.
* QQI Level 6 or higher in Healthcare Support or equivalent.
* QQI Level 6 in Leadership and Supervisory Management Qualifications.
