We have an exciting opportunity to join our CID Business Area as a Manufacturing Engineer in Galway.

As our Manufacturing Engineer, you’ll support HID’s success by:
1. Continuously driving improvements in process design, layout and operational performance.
2. Equipment specification, design, procurement, installation, commissioning, modification and validation.
3. Using established problem-solving techniques to address challenging problems in production.
4. Technical servicing and maintenance of manufacturing and personalizing equipment.
5. Supporting central IT in managing local IT network and interfaces.
6. Analyzing process, product, material or equipment specifications and performance.
7. Responsible for calibration and preventative maintenance of production equipment.
8. Developing technical documentation such as standard operating procedures, safety programmes, validation protocols, technical reports, engineering calculations, change controls and other documentation as required.
9. Providing technical leadership to production technicians and leading technical projects with cross functional teams.
10. Evaluating in conjunction with EHS new equipment/processes/chemicals for environmental impact/effect to eliminate or lessen such impacts/effects.
11. Supporting transfer of Manufacturing process from other HID sites to Galway.
12. Being flexible for international business travel as required.
What we will love about your background:
1. Previous experience working as a Manufacturing Engineer in an automated production environment.
2. Strong experience in Pneumatics, hydraulics, PC and PLC control, Vision systems etc.
3. Experience with tools & hands-on experience supporting machines in a production environment.
4. Previous experience in RFID card manufacturing or secure printing industry a distinct advantage.
Your Experience and Education include:
1. Bachelor's degree in electrical / mechanical engineering or related discipline.
2. Ability to read and interpret technical journals, specifications, international technical standards, etc.
3. Proficient in MS Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
4. Native level fluency in English language.
5. Fluency in another language is desirable.
